Built into the walls of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, the Caminito del Rey is a unique nature trail in the world. It starts in the municipality of Ardales, crosses the municipality of Antequera and ends in El Chorro (Álora). Altogether, it is an aerial route of more than 7 kilometers, at an average of 100 meters above the Guadalhorce River. It was built a century ago by the Sociedad Hidroeléctrica del Chorro, owners of Salto del Gaitanejo and Salto del Chorro, as they needed its operators to access these waterfalls. The name Caminito del Rey is due to the fact that King Alfonso XIII passed through it.
On this guided tour you will discover this unique nature trail. You will walk more than 7km and you will be able to contemplate the Guadalhorce river dam, the Nature Site Desfiladero de los Gaitanes and the El Chorro Reservoir or learn about the history of the place. All this in the most comfortable way possible, with an expert guide. In addition, this tour includes shuttle bus from El Chorro to the North entrance.
